Statement (1 Thessalonians 5:)

Work of Faith
Labor of Love
Patience of Hope

Statement (1 Thessalonians 5:)

Work of Faith
Faith as a saving faith, is faith in God that Jesus died for my sins. Not just faith in anything.
Faith looks back. “Faith alone saves, but the faith that saves is not alone” John Calvin wrote. Faith looks to the past, when we accepted the Lord, when we were Born Again. Faith looks to the Cross and answered prayer.

Statement (1 Thessalonians 5:)

Labor of Love
We should have Love for “one another” or those around us, without which love, we cannot claim we know God. Love is for the present. So we should have love for God and love for man, since Jesus said all the law and prophets hang on those two commands.

Statement (1 Thessalonians 5:)

Patience of Hope
The Hope here is a certainty, it is a known certain event, like the Return of Jesus, that gives hope, not a hope that an event may occur. The Hope of Salvation, the Blessed Hope, looks to the return of Jesus with certainty to the future.

Statement (1 Thessalonians 5:)

The Grace that does not change your life, will not save your soul.

Statement (1 Thessalonians 5:)

The ‘Work of Faith’ looks to the past.
The ‘Labor of Love’ looks to the present.
The ‘Patience of Hope’ looks to the future.

Statement (1 Thessalonians 5:)

“God hasn’t appointed us to the day of Wrath, the Great Tribulation. It is a time of judgment and the church is not going through it because Christ bore our judgment. Perhaps you were saying ‘McGee do you think you were good enough to be taken out in the rapture?’ No, I’m not even good enough to be saved. But God save me by his grace, and when he comes to take his church out of this world, I’m going along with all the Super Duper saints – because of the grace of God. But to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. God has not destined us for wrath for the Great Tribulation but for salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Isaiah 35:4-8 KJV
4 Say to them [that are] of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come [with] vengeance, [even] God [with] a recompence; he will come and save you. 5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 6 Then shall the lame [man] leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. 7 And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, [shall be] grass with reeds and rushes. 8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it [shall be] for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err [therein].

Isaiah 35:4-8 NLT
4 Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.” 5 And when he comes, he will open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf. 6 The lame will leap like a deer, and those who cannot speak will sing for joy! Springs will gush forth in the wilderness, and streams will water the wasteland. 7 The parched ground will become a pool, and springs of water will satisfy the thirsty land. Marsh grass and reeds and rushes will flourish where desert jackals once lived. 8 And a great road will go through that once deserted land. It will be named the Highway of Holiness. Evil-minded people will never travel on it. It will be only for those who walk in God’s ways; fools will never walk there.
