We need spiritual leaders; they are for our blessing and benefit.

The man is supposed to be the spiritual, unselfish, loving leader of the home.

We should look at customs and see if they CLEARLY violate scripture.

This is a discussion of order not of importance.

PATTERN YOURSELVES after me [follow my example], as I imitate and follow Christ (the Messiah).

I am so glad that you always keep me in your thoughts, and that you are following the teachings I passed on to you.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

submitting to one another in the fear of God.

And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.

3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

7 The old way, with laws etched in stone, led to death, though it began with such glory that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses' face. For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness was already fading away. 8 Shouldn't we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life?

So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.

And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.

But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God.

But if anyone wants to argue about this, I simply say that we have no other custom than this, and neither do God's other churches.

Now if anyone is disposed to be argumentative and contentious about this, we hold to and recognize no other custom [in worship] than this, nor do the churches of God generally.
