When you understand what Jesus did enough to pray a prayer to ask Him to forgive you of your sins, then you have a thankfulness and a gratitude for what He did, that blooms into a love for Him that will obey and serve Him.

As followers of Jesus, our words should line up with our actions.

Do not give your peace away.

Jesus is coming back.

But someone will say, "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,

35 Do you think the work of harvesting will not begin until the summer ends four months from now? Look around you! Vast fields are ripening all around us and are ready now for the harvest. 36 The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike!

36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.37 Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."

We have also a more sure word of prophecy;

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
